Off the water…

2012 looks set to be a busy year on the water and you can expect even more off the water too. The following list comprises all the key event dates set so far. There will be more, as we plan and develop our events itinerary across the year. If you have an idea for a social event or see something that you think Dalgety Bay Sailing Club us really missing then please speak to a committee member and help us set the wheels in motion.

  • Brass Monkey BBQ Saturday March 31st 2012- Straight after Brass Monkey: informal, Aussie-themed BBQ.
  • Easter Eggstravaganza,  April 8th 2012, 12-2pm (Easter Sunday)The annual family event aimed at our younger audience is back with BBQ

  • May Regatta Saturday, May 26th  2012
  • DBSC Open day (Date TBC) - The Club opens its doors and encourages members to bring along as many non-member friends as possible to sample all we have to offer.
  • Youth Week  August 6th – 10th 2012 - A week dedicated to the development of the next generation of sailing talent.
  • Inchcolm BBQ August 2012 – date TBC - Didn’t we have a lovely time the day we went to Inchcolm? The Dalgety Armada is back for another year, along with our floating BBQ!
  • Club Regatta September 8th - Our Annual Dinghy Regatta, with racing, fun and festivities on shore and evening event on Saturday night
  • DBSC 40th Birthday Party October 26th - Our 40th birthday, on the anniversary of our first AGM after the club formally being opened on 15th April, 1972 – see our history page. Lets make it a special Ruby anniversary and paint the clubhouse red and enjoy some birthday cake
  • Christmas Eve Carols  December 24th 2012 - Our annual Christmas Eve singalong, with mulled wine and mince pies, and hopefully a visit from the big fella’ in red?
  • Hogmanay Gathering December 31st 2012 - Celebrate the passing of another year with your sailing club and watch the Edinburgh fireworks display from the comfort of the Clubhouse Deck.

As always the success of our social events at the club is down to you – our members, and your guests in coming along and getting involved. And of course we need your help to pull these events together and make them something to remember.
