Old Sails needed for Trinity House project

We’ve been approached by a Napier University student, Melanie Newbould, looking for old sails for use in a project is to raise awareness of Trinity House… See the letter from Melanie below.

Trinity House maintain all buoyage in the country so a well deserving cause.  If you have an old sails available please get in touch with communications@dalgetybaysc.org.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a BDes (Hons) Design and Digital Arts student at Edinburgh Napier University and am project manager of a lighting and projection project at Trinity House in Leith.

The project is to raise awareness of Trinity House and its history and importance to the community around it.

As part of the event, we would like to suspend sails over the courtyard at the back of the building and are therefore looking for some old sails.

We are working with a non-existent budget and need to borrow as many of our materials as possible so if you have or know of any old sails we could borrow, we would be extremely grateful.

We would need them from the 20th to the 30th of March and would be happy to pick them up and return them to the club if required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Melanie Newbould
