Barts Bash @ DBSC

Barts Bash – Sunday 21st September 2014

DBSC Open Regatta 20th & 21St September 2014

We have registered to take part in Barts Bash, the largest sailing event in the world . We will be racing against 570 clubs in 50 different countries and against Yachts, dinghies and windsurfers.

Our club is registered on Barts Bash site here and you can now sign up to race on the day. If you do race on the day, you will be racing against Ben Ainslie in a Finn, Iain Percy in a Star, Paul Goodison in a Moth, Jimmy Spithill in a Melges E-Scow and Loick Peyron in his Trimaran.

By entering the race now, our club will get an idea as to the number of people who intend to race on the day and it will also give us a good representation on the website. It is also DBSC regatta during the weekend, please find attached a link to the Notice of Race The regatta is open to all dinghies and there is also a development fleet for those who are not experienced in racing with race coaching for assistance. The regatta is also sponsored by the Bosuns Locker based in Port Edgar so there are great prizes for the winners.

The event is a fundraiser for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, and they are asking for a £5 donation from each person over the age of 14 who intends to sail. Once you have signed up, you can create a just giving page which can then be used to spread the word and get people to sponsor you. You can also pay your £5 during registration for the regatta at DBSC.

The team at Barts Bash have also created a Sponsorship form, which is attached to this e-mail and further copies can be downloaded from the website, as can posters and banners if you want to share the event.

It would be great if as a club, we could rally round and support this great cause whilst having our clubs largest race on the water and racing against a “whos who of sailing superstars”.

In order to complete the registration.
