Volunteers

We require help to run the Tuck Shop and donations of Home Baking for the Tuck Shop.

We also need a ‘Shore Mum’ each day who can provide first aid and care for any participants in need of it.  (It doesn’t have to be the same person each day.  If you can do just one day that’s a great help).

What is Youth Week?

DBSC Youth Week is an annual youth training week that takes place during the school summer holidays.  It has been running for many years and is a very popular event typically having 50 to 60 participants.  DBSC is an RYA approved training centre and the training during youth week is to RYA standards offering the following courses.

  • Stage 1
  • Stage 2
  • Stage 3
  • Day Sailing
  • Sailing with Spinnakers
  • Start Racing

Training is provided by RYA qualified instructors and the event is overseen by DBSC’s RYA registered principle instructor.

Youth Week is a fun event that also provides participants with RYA sailing qualifications.  Many participants go on to become Assistant Instructors in their later teens and Qualified Dinghy Instructors after that.
